Beyond Simple Answers

Beyond Simple Answers is an ongoing Theology Lab’s series. It’s motto is “searching for a theological vision when simple answers fall short.” With short, digestible episodes at about 15 minutes each, it’s meant to be an accessible way to (re)consider the role certain central beliefs can play for folks who might identify with faith de/reconstruction or who just want curiosity to play a more important essential role in their faith. Episodes are available on Apple Podcasts and designated BSA playlists are now up on YouTube and Spotify.

Critical conversations in the church? Yup!

Theology Lab is an online learning community supported by Highrock Church in Boston, MA. We believed nuanced conversations in the church are essential for a healthy, vibrant faith. As a church, we value courage (fostering resilient faith and convictions), curiosity (a faith that seeks understanding) and compassion (loving our neighbors as we would ourselves).

Scott Rice (ThD, resident theologian) organizes the Theology Lab. Alongside Scott, Greg Fung and Kristin T. Lee help host the Beyond Simple Answers series that connects theological ideas with questions of everyday Christian life.

We explore how central beliefs, like the incarnation of God in Jesus, can inspire a faith marked by both conviction and a spirit of generosity toward others.
